I was not in class on Thursday so here are my thoughts for my infographic, fonts and colors. I tried to keep the fonts simple and the colors organic. The infographic comparison is two different columns so the information on the left is the negative effects of making so much paper, where as the information on the right is what could happen if things changed starting with the production of pulp itself.

Nichole – you have gobs of data here, which is great and gives you some options for the infograph. What is most important to this particular industry? I wonder if the data that is contained in the top right section (120,000 pounds of saved paper is equal to…) would be enough for this infograph? It states a comparison that uses numbers – which is all we need to create a visual representation of this data. So – as much as all the other information is great, I think you have what you need in that 1 bulleted item. And the “equal” is the comparison. You will be in charge of visualizing this… and so I can predict, to make your point, that you would create an icon/illustration of the paper that appears much smaller than the resources it has used. That’s the power we have, as visual artists – we interpret the information we are given. So – interpret this so we know that paper is a huge resource hog. Also – as I mentioned a few weeks ago, there are alternatives being considered for the future of paper, see this link:

And I just came across this – watch it, it will make you laugh:

PS - on a previous post I questioned your use of brown... please make sure that these colors are derived from the group of photos you will show in the Brief, and again - maybe brown isn't the most exciting organic color you can envision!
