Cover Design_Pavlo

So here is my new cover design, after the class revision from last week.

  1. Pavlo,

I really enjoy what you've done with your logo. It gives me a feeling of leaving a footprint on this earth by a way of recycling and being environmentally friendly. So the logo is good, but I question the rest of your cover. It kind of seems a bit of a random element to have the grey shape and leaf placed there. Maybe you could try using a photo there to give us an idea of what kind of industry you're targetting.

  2. Pavlo – welcome to the Blog! Your logo is more on-target now, which is great. I’m wondering if the toe prints in your logo will start to look like a bit “frilly” when reduced? Might there be a way to redraw that footprint to avoid that result? You need to actually draw this icon – and not pull it down from the internet – I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this exact footprint. Do not plagiarize – draw your own print.

Are you working in the correct format? This brochure is a portrait orientation, so I wonder how the layout will appear when this moves from square to vertical?

I agree with Nichole – you should “show” the industry that is your target audience. Photos often do this quite well. Maybe the lower design with the leaf could sit at the bottom of the cover and hold the tagline then?

Typos – I suggest you import (or copy/paste) the type for this brochure directly from the Word file I gave you to avoid typos. AND, if you do find yourself typing into InDesign please turn on Dynamic Spelling. InDesign would have picked this up: “Businesses” is the proper spelling.

Where is the rest of your missing Design Brief?

  3. Pavlo,

The logo is definitely a big improvement from your already known recycling symbol. And as Coni said, that she has seen these feet before, maybe you can simplify them into a less complex silhouette. Or a single shape that doesn't have the toes as separate shapes. I agree with Nicole that it is not clear at all who your audience is or what you are selling, so I think you definitely should represent your industry via a photo. That would bump it up a great deal. Looking forward to seeing the changes! Also welcome to the blog as Coni said lol
