MBDC - Company Overview
MBDC is a consulting and product certification company that works with industriesin order to reduce many “waste” to save the environment. Therefore William McDonough and Michael Braungart came Cradle-to-Cradle.
The purpose of Cradle-to-Cradle is a certification program that helps industries to know more about their products, what is made from and how it can be reutilized.
In other words, McDonough and Braungart would like industries to conceive products from the beginning in way they can be reused at the end of their life under biological cycle or techinical cycle.

MBDC realizes that textile insdustry is one of the more important sector not only in the United States but in the entire world. These industries use a large volume of water, energy and a lot of chemicals based on benzidine, optical brighteners, solvents and fixatives, crease-resistance agents releasing formaldehyde, flame retardants that include organophosphorus and organobromine compounds and antimicrobial agents are used in textile operations. These materials can be not only dangerous for employees of those industries but also for anyone wearing or using these fabrics.
