MBDC Final Brochure

 MBDC - Company Overview
MBDC is a consulting and product certification company that works with industriesin order to reduce many “waste” to save the environment. Therefore William McDonough and Michael Braungart came Cradle-to-Cradle.
The purpose of Cradle-to-Cradle  is a certification program that helps industries to know more about their products, what is made from and how it can be reutilized.
In other words, McDonough and Braungart would like industries to conceive products from the beginning in way they can be reused at the end of their life under biological cycle or techinical cycle.
MBDC - Target Audience
MBDC realizes that textile insdustry is one of the more important sector not only in the United States but in the entire world. These industries use a large volume of water, energy and a lot of chemicals based on benzidine, optical brighteners, solvents and fixatives, crease-resistance agents releasing formaldehyde, flame retardants that include organophosphorus and organobromine compounds and antimicrobial agents are used in textile operations. These materials can be not only dangerous for employees of those industries but also for anyone wearing or using these fabrics.
• Troy Cotton & Woolen Manufactory
• Standard Textile Company
• Burlington Industries
• Tommy Hilfiger
• Rockland industries

Nicole_MBDC Final Brochure

My brochure intends to grab the attention and target CEOs of the pulp and paper mill industry. MBDC would be a good candidate to help companies like this because they have the technology and knowledge to make powerful changes to the process of making pulp/paper, the materials, as well as the after effects to the environment. I chose specific colors, fonts and images to relate to the industry and have a higher chance of them finding this brochure helpful.

Eleni Pirperis-Final Brochure

Hello all,

My name is Eleni Pirperis, and I have been hired by MBDC to create a brochure marketing our benefits to the paint industry. I have created this brochure for the viewing for the CEO of the paint industry as well as to interior designers appeal. I felt this would be essential for interior designers as well since nowadays people rely heavily on them for their input on their space and expect them to help them invest their money where it is best for them.

Paint is a very commonly used by all, not just painting companies, but it is in the convenience of the average person to purchase and paint themselves. Little do they know that paints are highly contaminated with great amounts of VOC (volatile organic compound) which are the hazardous, poisonous chemicals in paint. The system in which paint cans are disposed of are also quite harmful to our world. There is actually no stable system for the disposing of paint cans. There is a recycling system that is passed in only 3 states, however, it still doesn't guarantee it to be recycled properly.

With the help of MBDC we can make paint with little to no VOC, as well as create a biodegradable can for packaging. This way we can save the indoor environment that impacts your health, as well as the outdoor environment that effects us all.

For my design, I wanted to stick with a clean, contemporary design. I've done this by using a generous amount of negative space with the wide margins and high leading. Although CEOs are used to reading heavy amounts of text, I wanted to provide high leading again for that contemporary feel and breathing space. For fonts, I chose geometrical shaped with the inspiration that William McDonough is an architect. For the headings I chose Rockwell since it is a recognizable type and appropriate for large headings. I used Avenir for the body copy. Serif fonts are proven to be more readable, but I chose sans serif body copy again sticking with that contemporary look. For my color palette, I chose the cool toned Earth colors of blue and green. This color is a sophisticated color palette for CEOs as well as that they match with the MBDC Cradle to Cradle theme. The colors are puled straight from the photos to keep the design unified. For my photos, I included interior designers working/painting because CEOs like to see the process of work being done. The rest are photos of paint and eco-friendly paint images. For my logo, I chose to make a green thumb print into the shape of the world because the expression "green thumb" means to plant, but also in the shape of the world shows eco-friendliness to help the Earth. The title on the cover page is in the geometric font Futura.

Cinelli-Graham_Fianl MBDC Brochure

Here is my final MBDC Brochure. This was a long and stressful process to create, but I'm relatively happy with the final design, it has come a long way due to everyone's great feedback. Thanks everyone!
Brief:
MBDC is a global sustainability consulting and product certification firm founded in 1995 by world-renowned architect William McDonough and chemist Dr. Michael Braungart. MBDC consults clients on leaving a "positive footprint" on the planet by implementing the Cradle to Cradle Framework. MBDC works with innovative clients within various sectors and industries, to spur creativity, differentiate their brands and recognize their market leadership, attract and retain customers, enhance competitive advantage, and reduce long-term risks.

Problem:
Some brands of school pencils, color pencils, cardboard, notebooks, copy paper, and filler paper come directly from rain forests in Indonesia, temperate Boreal forests in Canada, and other sensitive ecosystems. Many companies making these products are destroying ancient forests and the livelihoods of local communities.

Objective:
MBDC created the Cradle to Cradle Certified program to help school supplies companies measure their progress and communicate their accomplishments. MBDC could work with companies to evaluate their products and guide them through the process. Cradle to Cradle certification program assesses a school product's safety to children and the environment and design for future life cycles.

Target Market:
Paper Mate
Five Star
Mead
Ticonderoga
RoseArt
Faber-Castell
Prismacolor

HI Class! This is my design for the mailing pages. Due to renaming the serial number of the jpeg for my cover page, I was unable to find it. which resulted in a little color editing in the brochure. I think the page of Micheal's quote, could use some work. Im not sure.
