Farns_MBDC Brochure Re-edit

HI! Class! Here some of the changes that was explained from last weeks critique. I resized the photos, to get them to equal one of another. I'd made some color changes for the infogrpagh for I think the Darker Blue on itwas matching the background. I deleted the spline in the middle and got rid of the white shade's that was part of the bulleted text and placed the shades in those subtext you see there. I also recreated the logo arrow in a much similar form.

Now I managed to place down the "Hannover Principles" paragrpagh on page 6 six and is still trying to figure out, where the cradle to Cradle paragraph, should go.

  1. Keenan,
This is pretty good. I have a couple of suggestions though. The first thing is the bright green headings throughout your layout. I feel as though these would be stronger and easier to read if they were in white. Bright green is hard to work with especially because it's on a red/brown shape. Red and green don't mix well, the vibrate to the eye. The curved shape you have on the sides of the pages still aren't the same throughout the layout. The first one is different from the 4-5 spread. The last page, that picture in the oval is cutting into a sentence. It's breaking up the text in a weird way, I feel as though you should make it so the text doesn't wrap that much around the picture.
    Good progress.

  2. Keenan – we worked together extensively during last class, but here are some reminders of what you need to think about:

We rebuilt the file so that the text is “threaded” from column to column. This allows you to experiment with the design more freely, as the text pushes forward on its own. You will want to include well-designed negative space (intentionally left for page balance and a relaxed page design) but not too much in one spot. Using larger photos is a good idea, while paying attention to the text wrapping around them.

On page 6, where I see the Hannover Principles sitting currently the body copy line lengths are too long. Make sure to pay attention to your grid. If the grid you’ve used on the previous pages does not work, then I would suggest you move to a 2 even column grid.

Infographic – make sure it contains real data, by way of numbers or statistical facts. Not general statements. That’s what an infographic is – statistics that we make more readable by creating a visual interpretation of the data.

Keep posting you work as it progresses this week for continual feedback.
